To be a DECENT kid-friendly restaurant requires a few basics:
1. A decent kids' menu - that means kids actually want to order the food when they hear the description AND mom is happy that it won't ruin their nutritional intae of the past week in one sitting.
2. Kids entertainment is present - jungle gyms, swings, the whole lot. And it's in an enclosed area. Alternatively, have kids' activities, like making their own pizzas. This is critical. Having a kids' menu by itself and then expecting little dude sto sit around and do nothing but hold conversation means you are not catering for kids. No debate.
3. Having proper, high quality food for mom, dad and their unsuspecting friends whom they brought along to a "family restaurant". The fact that you allow kids don't mean you can let the side down when it comes to a decent menu. And that goes double for the wine and (craft!) beer l(on tap!) list.
